EIA reported a -216 bcf withdrawal for the week ending January 15 (Bloomberg median -228 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -228 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -250 bcf to -206 bcf with a standard deviation of 11 bcf. Our model showed -234 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA increased by +11 to 251 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days decreased by -1 to 1 CDD . We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent and WTI , but decreased in natural gas, heating oil and gasoline during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -7.1k to -6.8k in futures and fell by -10.5k to +21.7k in f.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,676 active rigs as of January 16, 2015, lower by -74 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -55 to 1,366 (ht: -34; vt-dir: -21) while gas-directed rigs fell by -19 to 310 (ht: -14; vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 185 in Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -5 to 116 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -3 to 10 in Eagle Ford (TX).

The 25 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -255 bcf to -182 bcf with a standard deviation of 16 bcf. Our model showed -227 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA increased by +26 to 240 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days remained flat at 2 CDDs. Baker Hughes shows 1,750 active rigs as of January 9, 2015, lower by -60 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -61 to 1,421 (ht: -34; vt-dir: -27) while gas-directed rigs increased by +1 to 329 (vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -7 to 150 in Bakken (ND) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -14 to 121 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 24 in Marcellus (WV).

The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -132 bcf to -110 bcf with a standard deviation of 7 bcf. Our model showed -115 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA increased by +49 to 214 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days remained flat at 2 CDDs.
