Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended January 26. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas declined by -0.4k to +13.0k in futures and grew by +13.9k t.....

Baker Hughes shows 618 active rigs as of January 29, 2016, lower by -18 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -13 to 497 (ht: -8; vt-dir: -5) while gas-directed rigs dropped by -5 to 122 (ht: -5; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -11 in Permian (TX) and by -4 in Permian (NM), while increasing by +3 in Anadarko (OK). Gas-directed horizontal rigs declined by -1 in Granite Wash (OK), Marcellus ( NEPA ) and Woodford (Arkoma).

The EIA reported a -211 bcf withdrawal for the week ending January 21, coming in-line with our own number at -211 bcf, and stronger than the Bloomberg median at -207 bcf. The regional breakdown was also close to expectations once allowing for rounding errors. This implies another tightening of the balances compared to the previous week as the EIA number once again agrees with scrape models rather than the weather-driven supply and demand models. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 3.81 bcf/d, higher by +0.99 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 3.95 bcf/d. Baker Hughes shows 637 active rigs as of January 22, 2016, lower by -13 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -5 to 510 (ht: -1; vt-dir: -4) while gas-directed rigs dropped by -8 to 127 (ht: -10; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Anadarko (OK) and +1 in Permian (TX), but dropped by -2 in Bakken (ND) and in areas not associated with a specific play. Gas-directed horizontal rigs declined by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX) and -4 in Haynesville (TX).

The EIA reported a -178 bcf withdrawal for the week ending January 14, coming in weaker than our own number at -188 bcf, and the Bloomberg median at -184 bcf. Despite stronger scrapes week-on-week, the EIA was once again more in-line with weather-driven supply and demand models rather than flow models.
