Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 05. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials decreased net length in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -1.7k to +150.5k in futures and declined by -1.6k to +169.3k in futures .....

Baker Hughes shows 439 active rigs as of July 8, 2016, higher by +9 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +10 to 351 (ht: +10; vt-dir: unch), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 88 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Permian (TX), by +2 in Bakken(MT) and by +3 in Other. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Wyoming.

The EIA reported a +39 bcf injection for the week ending June 30, coming in line with our own number and below the Bloomberg median at +42 bcf. At a regional level, we underestimated injections in the Midwest while allocating a smaller draw to South Central. There will be no commentary this week. Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the injection season are included in the attachment.

Please find attached data and charts detailing U. S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended June 30, 2016. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 1.47 bcf/d, lower by -0.11 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 2.34 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 33.4 bcf/d, higher by +0.1 bcf/d week-over-week. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended June 28. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and gasoil , but decreased in Brent, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +19.3k to +152.2k in futures and grew by +15.2.....

Baker Hughes shows 430 active rigs as of July 1, 2016, higher by +10 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +11 to 341 (ht: +8; vt-dir: +3), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 89 (ht: -1; vt-dir: unch). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 in Permian (TX), by +3 in Anadarko (OK) and by +2 in Colorado. Horizontal gas rigs decreased by -1 in Haynesville (TX).

The EIA reported a +42 bcf injection for the week ending June 23, coming in line with our own number and below the Bloomberg median at +45 bcf. Unlike the accounting-driven pull in the Pacific, South Central posted a real withdrawal as a region, not just in salts. On May 25, 2016, SoCal posted a critical notice titled “Aliso Canyon Update”, quantifying the gas volume lost during the SS-25 leak at 4.62 bcf.
