Starting this week, the “US Natural Gas Net Trade Report” and the “US Power Sector NG Demand Report” will be combined into a single publication. The new “U.S. Natural Gas Trade and Power Sector Demand” report incorporates EIA’s new storage regions and our updated models. Please find attached data and charts detailing U. S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended December 17, 2015. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 1.29 bcf/d, lower by -0.95 bcf/d week-on-week. D.....

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended December 15. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in Brent and gasoil during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas rose by +7.8k to -93.6k in futures and grew by +6.8k to.....

Baker Hughes shows 709 active rigs as of December 18, 2015, unchanged from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +17 to 541 (ht: +10; vt-dir: +7) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -17 to 168 (ht: -5; vt-dir: -12). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -4 in Marcellus ( SWPA ), while increasing by +3 in Marcellus (WV).

Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the remainder of the withdrawal season are included in the attachment. We overwrite weekly estimates with monthly releases as monthly EIA data becomes available. The EIA reported a -34 bcf withdrawal for the week ending December 10, coming in lighter than our own number at -38 bcf and the Bloomberg median at -40 bcf. Baker Hughes shows 709 active rigs as of December 11, 2015, lower by -28 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -21 to 524 (ht: -11; vt-dir: -10) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -7 to 185 (ht: -4; vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -4 in Permian (TX) and by -2 in Bakken (ND) and Permian (NM). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 19 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

The EIA reported a -76 bcf withdrawal for the week ending December 3, coming in stronger than our own number at -67 bcf and the Bloomberg median at -65 bcf. Regionally most of the surprise came from the withdrawal reported by salt-dome facilities given that we observed an injection of over 4 bcf from interstate pipeline flows. The overall withdrawal was also quite stronger than market expectations, which had already been boosted from a mid-50s pull, following large draws reported by the big st.....
