EIA reported a -195 bcf withdrawal for the week ending March 6 (Bloomberg median -200 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -201 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -210 bcf to -180 bcf with a standard deviation of 8 bcf. Our model showed -199 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted HDDs increased by +39 to 239, while nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA went down by -1 to 2 CDDs. Propane: US propane inventories fell by -1.1m bbl to 26.1m bbl for the week ended March 7, 2014. PADD 3 inventories decreased by -1%, or -114k bbl, to 15.5m bbl. PADD 2 stocks decreased by -11%, or -922k bbl, to 7.6m bbl. In PADD 1, stocks rose by +3% or +64k bbl to 2.0m bbl. Implied demand increased +4% to 1.32 mb/d; imports fell by -20% to 212 kb/d and production fell -8% to 1.32 mb/d last week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline and WTI , but decreased in natural gas and heating oil during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -67.8k to +411.4k in futures and decreased by -65.3k to +517.2k in.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,788 active rigs as of March 7, 2014, higher by +23 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +13 to 1,443 (ht: +13; vt-dir: 0) while gas-directed rigs increased by +10 to 345 (ht: +8; vt-dir: +2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +8 to 199 in the Permian (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +7 to 201 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +5 to 27 in the Eagle Ford (TX).

EIA reported a -152 bcf withdrawal for the week ending February 28 (Bloomberg median -140 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -137 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -155 bcf to -120 bcf with a standard deviation of 6 bcf. Our model showed -130 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted HDDs increased by +17 to 200, while nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA remained flat at 3 CDDs. In Focus: West coast LPG exports Crude oil and NGL marketer Petrogas will acquire Chevron’s LPG storage and loading facility in Ferndale, WA, eyeing LPG exports to Asia-Pacific. But few details about the project have emerged, and we would expect business as usual – with perhaps incrementally greater butane exports this summer – until the new owners are able to fully leverage their new asset. The facility has been given a capacity of 30 kb/d.

Oil rigs increased by +5 to 1,430 (ht: +5; vt-dir: 0), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -7 to 335 (ht: -6; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +10 in the Permian (TX) and vertical/direction oil rigs increased by +4 to 23 in Permian (NM), while gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -3 to 22 in the Eagle Ford (TX).

Nationwide natural gas-weighted HDDs decreased by -82 to 183, while nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA increased by +2 to 3 CDDs.
