Oil rigs increased by +11 to 1,573 (ht: +9; vt-dir: +2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -5 to 313 (ht: -3; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +5 to 228 while vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -1 to 210 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 22 in Haynesville (TX).

Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 to 135 in the Anadarko (OK), but decreased by -5 in Eagle Ford (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -1 to 210 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 15 in Granite Wash (TX).
