Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended August 07. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in natural gas and gasoil , but decreased in Brent, gasoline, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. US: Baker Hughes shows 1055 active rigs as of August 10, 2018, higher by +13 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +10 to 869 (ht: +14; vt-dir: -4), and gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 186 (ht: -2; vt-dir: +5). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 in Permian (NM), by +3 in Permian (TX), by +2 in Anadarko (TX), by +2 in Monterey (CA) and by +6 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -1 in Barnett Combo (TX). Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the injection season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a +46 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -1 bcf lower than our estimate and -1 bcf lower than the Bloomberg median. Our overestimate for injections in the East and Midwest were offset by an overestimate in South Central draws this week. Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended August 2, 2018. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -2.77 bcf/d, down -0.64 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.75 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 37.0 bcf/d, down by -1.4 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 84 population weighted CDDs, down by -8 week over week.

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 31. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and heating oil , but decreased in natural gas and WTI during the reference week. US: Baker Hughes shows 1042 active rigs as of August 03, 2018, lower by -5 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -2 to 859 (ht: -6; vt-dir: +4), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -3 to 183 (ht: -4; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Eagle Ford (TX), while declining by -2 in Anadarko (TX), by -1 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Bakken (ND) and by -3 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. The EIA reported a +35 bcf net build in inventory this week. The injection was -4 bcf lower than our estimate and -8 bcf lower than the Bloomberg median. The regions where we saw the largest miss this week were South Central non-salts and Pacific, with both drawing more than we expected. Our preliminary estimate for next week’s number is an injection in the high 40 bcf range.
