Please find attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended March 2, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -1.06 bcf/d, higher by +0.19 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged +1.71 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 20.6 bcf/d, higher by +1.2 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 85 electric-weighted HDDs, higher by +23 HDDs week over wee.....

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended February 28. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in heating oil, but decreased in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, gasoil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -25.7k to +311.3k in futures and declined by -.....

Baker Hughes shows 755 active rigs as of March 3, 2017, higher by +2 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +7 to 609 (ht: +11; vt-dir: -4), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -5 to 146 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +7 in Eagle Ford (TX), by +4 in Permian (TX), by +3 in Bakken (ND) and by +1 in Anadarko (TX), while decreasing by -1 in Permian (NM), by -1 in Anadarko (OK) and by -2 in Other. Horizontal gas rigs decreased by -2 in Marcellus ( SWPA ) and by -1 in Hay.....


EIA NG STORAGE REPORT | March 02, 2017

The EIA reported a +7 bcf injection for the week ending February 23, the first February build ever reported. Our regional flow model’s entire miss was concentrated in the South Central region. Pinning down this week’s estimate was a challenge (as it usually is following a large miss). Our nationwide flow models indicated a range of -2/+2 and we settled for a flat inventory for the week. A linear extrapolation of historical counted vs. measured inventory change suggested a draw as large as -1.....

Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoil and WTI , but decreased in gasoline, natural gas and heating oil during the reference week. Oil rigs increased by +5 to 602 (ht: +9; vt-dir: -4), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 151 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +5 in Eagle Ford (TX), by +4 in Permian (TX), by +2 in Anadarko (TX) and by +1 in Permian (NM), while decreasing by -1 in Anadarko (OK), by -1 in Bakken (ND) and by -1 in areas of Texas not associated with a specific play.
