Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended November 9, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -1.63 bcf/d, lower by -0.47 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged -0.37 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 25.7 bcf/d, up by +1.5 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 61 electric weighted HDDs, down -8 week over week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, heating oil and WTI , but decreased in gasoil during the reference week. US: Baker Hughes shows 907 active rigs as of November 10, 2017, higher by +9 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +9 to 738 (ht: +11; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs were unchanged at 169 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +7 in Anadarko (OK), by +4 in Permian (NM) and by +2 in Permian (TX), while declining by -2 in Anadarko (TX). Please note our extended U.S. and Canada tables covering the injection/withdrawal season are included in the attachment. The EIA reported a +15 bcf injection for the week ending November 2nd, the number was in line with our estimate and +1 bcf above the Bloomberg median. This week our model’s underestimate in the South Central and overestimate in the Mountain and Pacific regions fortunately offset each other, resulting in our total estimate matching the EIA’s. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -1.13 bcf/d, higher by +0.22 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged +0.36 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 24.2 bcf/d, down by -0.8 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 68 electric weighted HDDs, up +35 week over week.
