Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended September 20. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline and natural gas , but decreased in Brent, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Baker Hughes shows 510 active rigs as of September 23, 2016, higher by +5 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +2 to 418 (ht: +6; vt-dir: -4), while gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 92 (ht: +2; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in the Permian (TX) and by +1 in the Bakken (ND), and by +3 in areas of TX not associated with a tight oil play. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in the Marcellus ( SWPA ), and by +2 in areas of TX outside of named shale plays.

The EIA reported a +52 bcf injection for the week ending September 15, coming in above our estimate of +46 bcf and the Bloomberg median at +50 bcf. Compared to our East and Midwest build expectations of 17 bcf and 26 bcf, EIA reported an estimated injection of 19 bcf and 31 bcf, respectively. There will be no commentary this week.

Please find attached data and charts detailing U. S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended September 15, 2016. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 0.32 bcf/d, higher by +0.59 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 1.55 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 31.1 bcf/d, higher by +1.3 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 64 population-weighted CDDs, lower by -7 CDDs week over.....

Oil rigs increased by +2 to 416 (ht: unch; vt-dir: +2), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -3 to 89 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Anadarko (OK) and by +1 in Eagle Ford (TX), while decreasing by -2 in Bakken (ND) and by -1 in Anadarko (TX). Horizontal gas rigs decreased by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -1 in Haynesville (LA) and by -1 in Other, while increasing by +1 in Wo.....

The EIA reported a +62 bcf injection for the week ending September 8, coming in above our estimate of +58 bcf and the Bloomberg median at +61 bcf. Practically all the miss in our model came from the South Central, where the inventory-build in the salt domes across the South Central remained relatively robust despite the strength in cash. Total net trade for the reference week averaged -0.27 bcf/d (US became a net exporter for the first time), lower by -0.95 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 2.04 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 29.8 bcf/d, lower by -4.3 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 70 population.....
