Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended January 27. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in heating oil, gasoline and WTI , but decreased in natural gas and Brent during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -25.2k to -11.0k in futures and declined by -8.4k to +39.4k.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,542 active rigs as of January 30, 2015, lower by -91 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -94 to 1,223 (ht: -66; vt-dir: -28) while gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 319 (ht: +5; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -25 to 154 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -13 to 97 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 27 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

EIA reported a -94 bcf withdrawal for the week ending January 22 (Bloomberg median -108 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -104 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -144 bcf to -90 bcf with a standard deviation of 12 bcf. Our model showed -110 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA decreased by -67 to 184 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days remained flat at 1 CDD . Total US: -94 bcf ( LCMC : -110 bcf, Bloomberg median: -108 bcf.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,633 active rigs as of January 23, 2015, lower by -43 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -49 to 1,317 (ht: -27; vt-dir: -22) while gas-directed rigs increased by +6 to 316 (ht: +3; vt-dir: +3). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 1179 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -9 to 135 in the Bakken (ND). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +2 to 25 in Marcellus ( SWPA ).

The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -250 bcf to -206 bcf with a standard deviation of 11 bcf. Our model showed -234 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted heating degree days reported by NOAA increased by +11 to 251 HDDs, while electricity-weighted cooling degree days decreased by -1 to 1 CDD . Oil rigs decreased by -55 to 1,366 (ht: -34; vt-dir: -21) while gas-directed rigs fell by -19 to 310 (ht: -14; vt-dir: -5). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 185 in Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -5 to 116 in the Permian (TX).
