Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended March 25. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline and heating oil. Non-commercials increased net length in heating oil , but decreased in natural gas, Brent, gasoline and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas decreased by -6.8k to +392.4k in futures and declined by -1.3k to +514.4k in .....

Baker Hughes shows 1,805 active rigs as of March 28, 2014, higher by +6 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +14 to 1,487 (ht: +12; vt-dir: +2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -8 to 318 (ht: -7; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +8 to 189 in the Eagle Ford (TX) and vertical/directional oil rigs increased by +4 to 33 in the Eagle Ford (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -4 to 18 in Marcellus ( NEPA ).

EIA reported a -57 bcf withdrawal for the week ending March 21 (Bloomberg median -52 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -56 bcf). The 24 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -61 bcf to -46 bcf with a standard deviation of 3 bcf. Our model showed -52 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted HDDs increased by +5 to 155, while nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA remained flat at 2 CDDs. In Focus: Persistent weakness Although the spike in propane prices and relative strength in butane in January lent support to the NGL fractionation spread, shocks in the NG cash market and NGL market fundamentals quickly dispelled the hope of stronger earnings for producers. Although we argued for the possibility of some volatility in ethane this year should supply/demand factors align accordingly, 2014 is looking a lot like 2013 so far.

Baker Hughes shows 1,799 active rigs as of March 21, 2014, lower by -6 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +12 to 1,473 (ht: +10; vt-dir: +2) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -18 to 326 (ht: -16; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 to 161 in the Bakken (ND) while gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -10 to 15 in the Eagle Ford (TX).

EIA reported a -48 bcf withdrawal for the week ending March 13 (Bloomberg median -59 bcf, Bloomberg whisper: -201 bcf). The 23 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from -70 bcf to -44 bcf with a standard deviation of 6 bcf. Our model showed -61 bcf. Nationwide natural gas-weighted HDDs decreased by -89 to 150, while nationwide electricity-weighted cooling degree days reported by NOAA remained flat at 2 CDDs.
