Please find attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended December 29, 2016. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -0.72 bcf/d, lower by -0.94 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged +1.83 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 18.9 bcf/d, lower by -7.2 bcf/d week-over-week. Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended December 27. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas grew by +18.6k to +415.5k in futures and increased by +1.8k to +436.6k in fu.....

Baker Hughes shows 657 active rigs as of December 23, 2016, higher by +5 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +2 to 532 (ht: +4; vt-dir: -2), and gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 132 (ht: +2; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +3 in Permian (TX), by +2 in Anadarko (OK), by +1 in Anadarko (TX), by +1 in Bakken (ND) and by +1 in Permian (NM), while deceasing by -4 in Other. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Eagle Ford (TX), and by +1 in Other.

The EIA reported a -237 bcf withdrawal for the week ending December 22, a slightly smaller draw than our estimate of -245 bcf but larger than the Bloomberg median at -227 bcf. Even after the number was released and entered into our model, our model refused to provide a draw smaller than -242 bcf. We believe that differential may be due a holiday effect, limitations of the NG system, or of our model. Oil rigs increased by +13 to 523 (ht: +12; vt-dir: +1), and gas-directed rigs increased by +3 to 129 (ht: +2; vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +5 in Anadarko (OK), +2 in Permian (TX), and by +1 in the Eagle Ford (TX).
