EIA reported a +28 bcf injection for the week ended July 27 (Bloomberg median +23 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +21 bcf). The 22 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +16 bcf to +25 bcf with a standard deviation of 2 bcf. Our model showed +22 bcf. Nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA decreased to 91 CDDs from 93 CDDs the prior week. Total US: +28 bcf ( LCMC +22 bcf; Bloomberg median +23 bcf) East: +30 bcf West: +4 bcf Producing: -6 bcf Today’s +28 bcf compares to a +43 bc.....

Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended July 24. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercials expanded net length slightly in WTI during the week ended July 24. Non-commercial net length increased by +8.9k to 229.6k in futures and by +8.1k to 273.2k in fu.....

Baker Hughes
Baker Hughes shows 1,921 active rigs as of July 24, 2012, down -11 from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +2 (ht: -3, vt-dir: +5) and total gas rigs dropped by -13 (ht: -10, vt-dir: -3). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -5 in Bakken (ND) and -4 in Eagle Ford (TX) and Permian (NM), while going up by +3 in Permian (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs went up by +4 in Anadarko (OK) and by +2 in Eagle Ford (TX), while going down by -2 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went up by +4 in Granite Was.....

STATS shows 1,858 active rigs as of July 27, 2012, up +5 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +3 (ht: -4, vt-dir: +7) and total gas rigs increased by +2 (ht: -2, vt-dir: +4). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -5 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -3 in Anadarko (TX) and Anadarko (OK), while going up by +3 in Bakken (ND). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +5 in Anadarko (OK) and by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX), while going down by -5 in Monterey (CA). Horizontal gas rigs were up by +2 in Marcellus.....

Baker Hughes shows 1,932 active rigs as of July 20, 2012, down -17 from a week ago. Oil rigs were down by -13 (ht: +3, vt-dir: -16) and gas rigs dropped by -4 (ht: -5, vt-dir: +1). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX), +4 in Permian (TX), and +2 in Anadarko (TX), while going down by -2 in Anadarko (OK), -1 in Permian (NM), and -7 in parts of Texas not assigned to a specific play/basin in our models. Vertical/directional oil rigs went down by -8 in Permian (TX) and -3 in Permia.....

STATS shows 1,853 active rigs as of July 20, 2012, down -7 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +17 (ht: +10, vt-dir: +7) and total gas rigs decreased by -24 (ht: -21, vt-dir: -3). This week marked the first time total oil rigs exceeded 1,400, representing an almost sevenfold increase from the low of 211 oil rigs recorded the week ended April 10, 2009.
