Baker Hughes shows 1,949 active rigs as of July 13, 2012, down -12 from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +8 (ht: +5, vt-dir: +3) and total gas rigs dropped by -20 (ht: -13, vt-dir: -7). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +3 in Permian (NM), +2 in Permian (TX), and +1 in Anadarko (OK), while going down by -3 in Eagle Ford (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs went down by -7 in Permian (TX), but were up by +5 in Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs dropped by -2 in Haynesville (LA) and Marcellus ( NEPA .....

STATS shows 1,860 active rigs as of July 13, 2012, up +3 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs were up by +1 (ht: -7, vt-dir: +8) and total gas rigs increased by +2 (ht: -7, vt-dir: +9). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Barnett Combo (TX), +2 in Bakken (MT) and by +1 in Anadarko (TX), while going down by -4 in Anadarko (OK). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +5 in Anadarko (OK). Horizontal gas rigs were up by +2 in Granite Wash (TX), and +1 in Woodford (Arkoma). The biggest drop in hori.....

EIA reported a +33 bcf injection for the week ended July 6 (Bloomberg median +27 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +27 bcf). The 20 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +18 bcf to +34 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +33 bcf. Nationwide cooling degree days reported by NOAA showed a sharp increase and reached 100 CDDs from 66 CDDs the week before. We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. Non-commercial net length expanded in WTI during the week ended July 3 after decreasing in six out of the previous eight weeks. Non-commercials increased net length by 27.3k to 2.....

Horizontal oil rigs went up by +5 in Bakken (ND) and +4 in Eagle Ford (TX), while going down by -6 in Anadarko (OK) and -5 in “Other”. Total US: +39 bcf ( LCMC +45 bcf; Bloomberg median +43 bcf) East: +35 bcf West: +15 bcf Producing: -11 bcf Today’s +39 bcf compares to a +90 bcf injection during the corresponding week.....
