EIA reported a +57 bcf injection for the week ended June 22 (Bloomberg median +53 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +53 bcf). The 27 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +46 bcf to +62 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +53 bcf. Weather was again much warmer in the East and the Midwest as cooling degree days nationwide jumped to 66 CDDs from 49 CDDs the week before and heating demand all but disappeared (3 HDDs vs. 7 HDDs). Baker Hughes

Baker Hughes shows 1,962 active rigs as of June 22, 2012, down -5 from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +16 (ht: +18, vt-dir: -2) and total gas rigs went down by -21 (ht: -15, vt-dir: -6). Horizontal oil rigs went up by +4 in Eagle Ford (TX) and +2 in Anadarko (OK) and Permian (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs went up by +8 in Permian (TX), while going down by -4 in Permian (NM). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -3 in Granite Wash (TX) and Marcellus ( SWPA ), followed by -2 in Barnett (TX), .....

We focus on net length of non-commercial traders as well as net length of money managers and swap dealers as indicated in the disaggregated data for WTI , natural gas, gasoline, and heating oil. STATS shows 1,855 active rigs as of June 22, 2012, up +9 rigs from a week ago. Oil rigs went up by +19 (ht: unch, vt-dir: +19) and total gas rigs went down by -10 (ht: -6, vt-dir: -4). Horizontal oil rigs went down by -9 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -5 in Bakken (MT), while going up by +3 in Monterey (CA) and Permian (TX). Vertical/Directional oil rigs went up by +10 in Monterey (CA) and by +9 in Permian (TX). Horizontal gas rigs went down by -2 in Granite Wash (TX), while Granite Wash (OK) los.....

EIA reported a +62 bcf injection for the week ended June 15 (Bloomberg median +64 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +66 bcf). The 27 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +59 bcf to +68 bcf with a standard deviation of 2 bcf. Our model showed +64 bcf. Much warmer weather in the East and the Midwest led to lower heating degree days nationwide (7 HDDs vs. 20 HDDs) and higher cooling demand (49 CDDs vs. 32 CDDs). EIA reported a +67 bcf injection for the week ended June 8 (Bloomberg median +75 bcf, Bloomberg Whisper +74 bcf). The 25 estimates submitted to Bloomberg varied from +67 bcf to +85 bcf with a standard deviation of 4 bcf. Our model showed +75 bcf. Much lower temperatures in the East and the Midwest led to slightly higher heating degree days nationwide (20 HDDs vs. 15 HDDs) and significantly lower cooling demand (32 CDDs vs. 55 CDDs). Total US: +67 bcf ( LCMC +75 bcf; Bloomberg median +75 bcf.....
