Oil rigs decreased by -10 to 1,536 (ht: -5; vt-dir: -5) while gas-directed rigs decreased by -8 to 338 (ht: -6; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs decreased by -5 to 159 in the Bakken (ND) whereas increased by +5 to 259 in the Permian (TX). Vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -5 to 147 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs decreased by -3 to 24 in Marcellus (WV).

Vertical/directional oil rigs decreased by -16 to 162 and horizontal oil rigs decreased by -6 to 254 in the Permian (TX). Gas-directed horizontal rigs increased by +3 to 19 in Ohio.
