The EIA reported a +64 bcf injection for the week ending July 7, coming in line with our own number and the Bloomberg median at +62 bcf. At a regional level, we missed the South Central injection with the second shoe dropping in the East. This is the second week in a row where we failed to account for interregional dynamics (last week’s breakdown missed the South Central – Midwest pair). Figure 1 helps us visually determine the price level where NG started to lose ground to coal in MI.....

Please find attached data and charts detailing U. S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended July 7, 2016. Total net imports for the reference week averaged 1.28 bcf/d, lower by -0.19 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 2.27 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 31.4 bcf/d, lower by -2.0 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 84 population-weighted CDDs, flat week over week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials decreased net length in Brent, gasoline, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -1.7k to +150.5k in futures and declined by -1.6k to +169.3k in futures .....

Baker Hughes shows 439 active rigs as of July 8, 2016, higher by +9 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +10 to 351 (ht: +10; vt-dir: unch), while gas-directed rigs decreased by -1 to 88 (ht: +1; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Permian (TX), by +2 in Bakken(MT) and by +3 in Other. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Wyoming.

The EIA reported a +39 bcf injection for the week ending June 30, coming in line with our own number and below the Bloomberg median at +42 bcf. At a regional level, we underestimated injections in the Midwest while allocating a smaller draw to South Central. There will be no commentary this week. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline, natural gas and gasoil , but decreased in Brent, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas increased by +19.3k to +152.2k in futures and grew by +15.2.....

Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 in Permian (TX), by +3 in Anadarko (OK) and by +2 in Colorado. Horizontal gas rigs decreased by -1 in Haynesville (TX).
