Please find attached data and charts detailing the latest CFTC Commitments of Traders Report for the week ended October 24. We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline and WTI , but decreased in natural gas, gasoil and heating oil during the reference week. US: Baker Hughes shows 909 active rigs as of October 27, 2017, lower by -4 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +1 to 737 (ht: +2; vt-dir: -1), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -5 to 172 (ht: -4; vt-dir: -1). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +4 in Permian (TX), by +1 in Anadarko (OK) and by +2 in Other areas not associated with a specific play, while declining by -2 in Anadarko (TX), by -2 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -1 in Bakken (ND). The EIA reported a +64 bcf injection for the week ending October 19th, in-line with our estimate and 1 bcf below the Bloomberg median. As far as the regional balances are concerned – our underestimation of injections in the South Central this week offset our overestimation in the Mountain region, causing our total estimate to match the EIA’s total reported number. Still the 2 bcf miss in the mountain region was surprising, especially based on the size of the region. Our flow model continues .....

Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended October 19th, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -1.72 bcf/d, lower by -0.62 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged +0.89 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 25.9 bcf/d, down by -4.4 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 23 population weighted CDDs and 28 electric weighte.....

The EIA reported a +51 bcf injection for the week ending October 12th, 7 bcf higher than our estimate and 2 bcf below the Bloomberg average. After Hurricane Harvey, we suggested that the impact of hurricanes on US natural gas balances had shifted dramatically since Katrina and Rita.
