Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended August 24, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -0.14 bcf/d, up by +0.20 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 1.43 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 35.9 bcf/d, up by +1.5 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 82 population weighted CDDs, up 3 week over week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in gasoline , but decreased in Brent, natural gas, gasoil, heating oil and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas grew by +3.2k to +374.3k in futures and decreased by -1.0k t.....

US: Baker Hughes shows 939 active rigs as of August 25, 2017, lower by -6 from the previous week. Oil rigs decreased by -4 to 759 (ht: -3; vt-dir: -1), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -2 to 180 (ht: unch; vt-dir: -2). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +2 in Bakken (ND) and by +1 in Permian (TX), while declining by -1 in Anadarko (TX), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX), by -1 in Permian (NM) and by -3 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. Horizontal gas rigs increased by +1 in Eagle Ford .....

The EIA reported a 43 bcf injection for the week ending August 17th. The number was 2 bcf below our estimate and 3 bcf below the Bloomberg median. The largest regional difference this week was in the South Central again, where our prediction was 4 bcf weaker than the actual reported withdrawal. While we factored in the increase in ERCOT non-wind/non-nuclear demand, the magnitude could have been stronger than expected leading to the stronger withdrawal. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 34.3 bcf/d, up by +0.9 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 79 population weighted CDDs, up 9 week over week.
