The EIA reported a +53 bcf injection for the week ending August 10th. The number was 5 bcf below both our estimate and the Bloomberg median. This week had a downward revision to working gas storage in South Central salt caverns between the periods June 29th to August 3rd, 2017. The majority of the revision was to June 29th inventories, which were revised down -10 bcf (closer to what our model had forecast for that week). In terms of actual inventory levels this puts us at 3,082 bcf, suggesting.....

Please find the attached data and charts detailing U.S. gas imports and power demand for the week ended August 10, 2017. Total net imports for the reference week averaged -0.15 bcf/d, down by -0.08 bcf/d week-on-week. During the same week last year, U.S. net imports averaged 1.35 bcf/d. Average natural gas demand in the power sector was 33.3 bcf/d, down by -1.9 bcf/d week-over-week. During the reference week, the contiguous US observed 71 population weighted CDDs, down 12 week over week.

We provide all Legacy and Disaggregated trader positions for natural gas, WTI , Brent, gasoline, heating oil and gasoil. Non-commercials increased net length in Brent, gasoline, gasoil and heating oil , but decreased in natural gas and WTI during the reference week. Non-commercials net length in natural gas fell by -15.1k to +320.5k in futures and declined by -13......

US: Baker Hughes shows 949 active rigs as of August 11, 2017, lower by -5 from the previous week. Oil rigs increased by +3 to 768 (ht: -4; vt-dir: +7), and gas-directed rigs decreased by -8 to 181 (ht: -2; vt-dir: -6). Horizontal oil rigs increased by +1 in Anadarko (OK), by +1 in Anadarko (TX) and by +1 in Permian (NM), while declining by -4 in Permian (TX), by -1 in Barnett Combo (TX), by -1 in Eagle Ford (TX) and by -1 in Other areas not associated with a specific play. The EIA reported a +28 bcf injection for the week ending August 3rd. The number was -8 below our estimate and -9 bcf below the Bloomberg median. This week the storage number surprised us in the South Central and Pacific regions. In the South Central our flow model predicted much weaker withdrawals than what actually materialized. If we use a regional supply/demand approach to infer the storage withdrawals we can see power demand was stronger than expected due to high ERCOT non-wind/non-nuc.....
